Turkey supports Azerbaijan’s proposal for a 3+3 cooperation format in the region, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Wednesday during a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani.
Cavusoglu said he discussed with his Georgian counterpart joint strategic projects in the region, as well as steps that can be taken for stability in the region after the ceasefire in Karabakh.
He noted that Turkey supports a new regional cooperation format, in which Georgia will also participate.
Cavusoglu added that the postponed trilateral meeting of the Turkish, Azerbaijani and Georgian foreign ministers will take place as soon as possible.
Turkey’s top diplomat said his country attaches importance to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries. “Just as we support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, we strongly support the territorial integrity of Georgia,” he noted.
