Details of the Victory Parade

As reported earlier, a military parade dedicated to the Victory in the Patriotic War will be held today at 12:00.


Deputy Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Karim Valiyev will command the Victory Parade. The parade will be hosted by Defence Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.

First, the State Flag of Azerbaijan will be  displayed at the parade. Then the Victory flag, which was hoisted in Shusha, will be on the square. "Hero of the Patriotic War", Major General Zaur Mammadov, a descendant of Panahali khan Javanshir- founder of the Karabakh khanate and Shusha fortress, and first commandant of Shusha after the liberation of City will bring the flag to the Freedom Square. This will be followed by the battle flags and personnel of the military units that have played a special role in the liberation of our lands from occupation.
About 200 servicemen from Turkey will also take part in the parade.

In addition, for the first time, special forces of the Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) and the parade staff of the Military Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will take part in the Victory Parade.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, members of the state and government of the two countries will watch the Parade.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps will also be among those watching the parade. The host of the victory parade will be Colonel Abdullah Gurbani, Honored Art Worker, personal pensioner of the President.

More than 3,000 servicemen will participate in the military parade. Up to 150 military vehicles, including new military equipment, missile and artillery pieces, air defense systems recently adopted into the armament, as well as military ships and boats will be demonstrated at the parade.

Some of the war trophies seized from the Armenian troops defeated by the Azerbaijan Army during the Patriotic War will also be showcased at the parade.
