41,600 square km (4.16 hectares) of land has been completely cleared today in Jojug Merjanli village, Jabrayil region.
The information was provided by Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action to Defence.az.
16,400 square km (1.64 hectares) of land has been prepped for clearance with mechanical means (total of 58,000 square km, 5.80 hectares), no mines and unexploded explosive ordnances have been found.
A team of 55 is working on the operations.
15-days’ operations in the village have helped reveal 9 unexploded explosive ordnances (UXO) – 1 F-1 hand grenade, 1 UZRGM grenade, 2 RG-42 hand grenades, 2 TM-62 mine amplifiers and 3 PG-7 antitank unguided projectiles – and 1 OZM-72 anti-personnel mine. 434,746 square km (43.47 hectares) of land has been completely cleared and another 14hectaresquare km (14.57 hectare) prepped for clearing with special mechanical means, which makes a total of 58,000 square km, 5.80 hectares).
The operation for clearing the lands of mines and unexploded explosive ordnances is still ongoing.
