Azerbaijan Becomes Full Member of International Committee of Military Medicine

The 42nd World Congress of the International Committee of Military Medicine was held in New Delhi, capital of India. The Republic of Azerbaijan was elected a full member of the ICMM at the congress, reports Defence.az citing Azerbaijan Defence Ministry.

Major General Natig Aliyev, Head of the Medical Department of the Defence Ministry, has been appointed the head of the national representation of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the ICMM.

The Azerbaijani delegation met with their colleagues from Turkey and the Great Britain within the congress. The meetings were a perfect ground for the parties to share their views on issues of mutual interest.

Note that the International Committee of Military Medicine was established in 1921 in order to fully carry out the principles of the Geneva Conventions to provide exchange of scientific information on military medicine.

The main objective of the ICMM, with some 112 states listed as members, is to promote the exchange of scientific and technical experience in the field of military medicine.
