Such tactical intelligence patrol vehicles are manufactured in many countries. Let’s familiarize with brief information on a number of them.

“Renault”

There was a need for devices with powerful weapons and communication means, along with new Internally Transported Vehicles to ensure the activity of special forces of France in the Middle East and Africa.

Sources in the Renault Trucks Defence company informed that the company is engaged in production of light vehicles for the special forces. Thus, “Renault Trucks Defence” started to deliver 203 vehicles to the Command of Special Forces in September 2016.

A contract worth Euro 250 million was signed on purchase of 443 vehicles. Currently, the company is in search of new helicopters for carrying these vehicles.

In June 2016, the RTD Company unveiled in Eurosatory exhibition new Internally Transported Vehicle model with 4x4 wheels that is in the capacity of carrying 4 personnel and armoured device. The vehicle’s load capacity is two tons, its spare distance is 800 km and max. Speed is 110 km/hour. The vehicles will be delivered to new users from 2018.

“Jankel Group”

British “Jankel Group” company signed a contract with the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau and handed over Fox Rapid Reaction Vehicles to Belgium’s Special Security Forces.

The Fox RRV is based on a 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser 79 chassis. It has an open top configuration and is outfitted with four lateral doors. The vehicle is manned by 4 to 6 crew members depending on the vehicle's configuration. The vehicle has a gross weight of 4.2 tons.

The Fox RRV can be propelled by different engine types: 4.2L 6 cylinder turbo-charged, 4.5L V8 turbo-charged intercooled diesel engine and 4.0L V6 petrol engine with a manual or automatic transmission.

The vehicle can reach the maximum speed of 140 km/h and has a maximum range of 1200 km. Able to operate in extreme environments the Fox RRV is also ‘dirty fuel’ compatible.

The Fox RRV is fully Air-transportable (Boeing CH47 Chinook Helicopter, Lockheed C-130 Hercules, Airbus A400M Atlas).

“Battelle”

In accordance with the contract worth US 170 million signed in July 2016, the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) started to purchase Non-Standard Commercial Vehicles from Batelle company. Other details of the contract are not known.

According to non-official reports, “Toyota Land Cruiser” 76, 78, 79, 200, all models of “Toyota Hilux” və “Ford Ranger” are under the process of modernization.

In 2013, Batelle company delivered 300“Toyota Land Cruiser” və “Hilux” NSCV vehicles to the US Special Operations Command.

These vehicles are successfully commissioned in Canada and other units of the U.S.

The market of intelligence patrol vehicles is expected to further expand.
In future, there will probably be a need for new models of tactical Intelligence patrol vehicles with the capacity of carrying 8-10 personnel to be used in small-scale wars and local conflicts. This will enable an operative intervention in the areas of provocation on frontline and border areas.
