'They wished to die for motherland and their wishes came true in April' - PHOTOS

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the April victory of the Azerbaijani Army over Armenia.


Events were held to commemorate the memories of pilots of MI-24 helicopters major Tabriz Musazade, major urfan Valizade and Senior Lieutenant Abubakir Ismayilov who martyred in April fights.

Fellow military, family members and relatives of the martyrs visited the 2nd Alley of Honor and prayed for their souls, Defence.az reported.

Martyred pilot Abubakir Ismayilov’s brother Akbar Ismayilov told Defence.az that April fights are remembered as a glorious victory in Azerbaijan’s history. He said that along with Abubakir, brave sons of Azerbaijan died for motherland.

“Due to this victory, several strategic heights, including Leletepe height was liberated. This is the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani Army after a few years,” he noted.

Ismayilov said that his brother wanted to be a pilot in his childhood: “He had great interest in military shows on TV. Therefore, he entered Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski and graduated from it with special honors. Then, he entered High Military Aviation School. He joined the battles with great enthusiasm and attended the April fights as well. He martyred in Mi-24 helicopter in the sky and his spirit ascended to heaven.”

Martyr pilot Urfan Valizade’s brother Vidadi Valizade: “Being a serviceman was Urfan’s own choice. My mother is from Aghdam district. He always hated Armenians as our lands are under Armenian occupation. He wished to attend the fights to liberate the occupied lands. His wish came true.”
