U.S Senate approves military budget for 2019

The Senate of the United States Congress adopted a bill on defense budget for 2019 financial year in the amount of 716 bln dollars.


The bill provides a military salary increase, the increased number of military ships, military aviation, and military personnel. 

According to the document, 617 bln dollars will be allocated to the budget baseline for the Pentagon, 68.5 bln dollars to the foreign emergency operations, 21.6 bln to the nuclear development program. 

Also, the bill provides a ban amendment of selling 5th generation F-35 fighter aircraft to Turkey. Constraints are buying surface-to-air missiles C-400 by Ankara from Russia. 

The document was endorsed by 85 senators, ten were against. Now, the document needs to be approved by the House of Representatives, then the generalized version of the document by the both Houses of the Congress and signed by Donald Trump. 

Earlier, the Armed Forces Committee of the House of Representatives of the United States submitted a bill 'About the US budget for 2019 for national defense needs' which implies allocation of 250 mln dollars to Ukraine.  

Also, the U.S. State Department decided on selling to Ukraine Javelin anti-tank missile systems.
