ANAMA detects 13 shells in Sumgayit city - PHOTOS

On July 4, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action received information from State Border Service's Coast Guard Service that 11 shells were found in Taghiyev settlement, Sumgayit city.


ANAMA told defence.az that the Agency immediately sent a flexible operational group to the area.

Due to the weather conditions at night, the operations have been continued today. The Agency’s specialists and employees of the State Border Service's Coast Guard Service inspected the area. As a result of the immediate urgent operational search operations, the Agency's specialists detected 1 unexploded ammunition (122 mm howitzer  shell (F-460)) and 12 explosive missiles, which were  transported for neutralization to the central territory of the agency for destruction of dangerous items and devices.

An area of 2,500 square meters (1,500 square meters underground and 1,000 square meters surface area) was also inspected and no any other hazardous equipment and device were found.
