China on Monday warned the United States about endangering peace, stability and regional order every time it sends military ships without authorization to its jurisdictional waters in the South China Sea, under the pretext of freedom of navigation.

The Foreign Ministry expressed opposition to the recent entry of two US warships in waters near Nansha island, and repeated that the Chinese Government will take the necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty there.

The Government demanded that Washington stop those kinds of provocations immediately, because in addition to violating Chinese interests, they risk security in that maritime space.

This is the second incursion this year by US warships in the South China Sea.

In late January, the Pentagon said that such actions 'prove the US commitment to free and open navigation in the Indo-Pacific area'.

In addition to expressing rejection, China has always warned about the risks of confrontation, because the continuation of those maneuvers compels its armed forces to intensify surveillance and be always ready to respond.
