Belarusian Defence Ministry satisfied with territorial defence system checks

Goals and tasks behind the organization of territorial defense system checks in Ostrovets District, Grodno Oblast and Kletsk District, Minsk Oblast have been reached. Results will be thoroughly analyzed and will be used to further improve components of the national territorial defense system, representatives of the Belarusian Defence Ministry told BelTA.


On 4 April the Defence Ministry stated that the readiness of the territorial defence system in Ostrovets District had been checked. The system check was limited and represented another stage in evaluating the effectiveness of the territorial defence system and a logical continuation of the system check that had been done in Kletsk District. Goals and tasks behind the organization of territorial defence system checks were reached. Officials in charge of managing the territorial defence system, including in Ostrovets District, Grodno Oblast, did their job. The personnel will be relieved of duties according to the established procedure.

Oblast-level and district-level command officers managed to properly make decisions and establish territorial defence troops in the district. The notification of personnel was practiced as well as the switching of officers and the organizational nucleus from reserve status to active duty. Units went through operational shakedown. Practical classes were arranged. Logistical support was practiced, with close attention paid to medical support, Defence Ministry representatives told BelTA after the territorial defence system check in Ostrovets District was concluded.
