During the talks in Armenia, all parties acknowledged that there was no alternative to the statement on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict signed on November 10, said Russian FM Sergey Lavrov in his statement on the results of his visit to Yerevan, AzVision.az reports.

Russian FM said that comprehensive talks were held in Yerevan.

“The main focus is on ensuring the accurate and full implementation of the joint statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the cessation of hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Everyone agreed that there was no alternative to this statement in terms of resolving the situation, which became very acute a few weeks ago", Lavrov added.

Following over a month of military action to liberate its territories from Armenian occupation, Azerbaijan has pushed Armenia to sign the surrender document. A joint statement on the matter was made by Azerbaijani president, Armenia's PM and the president of Russia.

A complete ceasefire and a cessation of all hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is introduced at 00:00 hours (Moscow time) on November 10.

Under the agreement, a total of 1,960 Russian peacekeepers were deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh under a five-year mandate.

According to the agreement, on November 15, Armenia must hand over the Kelbajar region which lies to the northwest of Nagorno-Karabakh, to Azerbaijan but Armenian asked for more time and it was extended until 25 November. On November 20, the Aghdam region was handed over to Azerbaijan.

Finally, on 1 December, Armenia will hand over the Lachin District, over which the Lachin pass connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia passes.
