The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ordered 300 Vector medium-range reconnaissance drones, German Quantum Systems GmbH announced.
The UAVs were ordered as part of the military support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, funded by the German government.
Ukraine has placed a third order for 300 Vector UAVs after two pre-orders for 105 Vector UAVs in January 2023 and 33 Vector UAVs in August 2022.
This UAV was extensively and intensively tested on the battlefield in Ukraine, where it proved its effectiveness in military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.
The drone sustains continuous detection of enemy targets regardless of weather conditions, reaches speeds up to 72 km/h, and withstands a long flight time.
This type of UAV provides real-time aerial reconnaissance data in an effective and user-friendly form due to built-in artificial intelligence, and the system also frees the operator from constant video control.
Built-in algorithms allow the automatic identification of objects and immediate transfer of key intelligence information to the ground.
“Leveraging advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, the Vector empowers Ukrainian forces to swiftly gather critical intelligence and gain a strategic advantage,” the company says.
The system comes in a transport bag that can be carried by one person. According to Quantum Systems, the UAV only needs two minutes of adjustment before the flight.
Quantum Systems reaffirms “its strong partnership and unwavering support for Ukraine by delivering cutting-edge Vector drones, as per Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense contract.”
They note that training to use their drones usually takes no more than four days.
