Azerbaijan ready to normalize relations with Armenia, says Foreign Minister

Despite all the difficulties, Azerbaijan is ready to normalize the relations with Armenia in accordance with respect for the principles of international law, particularly the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.


FM Jeyhun Bayramova noted that Azerbaijan called for the beginning of the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders with Armenia based on these principles.

The Minister emphasised that Azerbaijan is committed to fulfilling the obligations arising from the trilateral statements, including agreements on the opening of all communications in the region.

He also expressed confidence over the opening of communications adding that it will benefit all countries in the region and strengthen the role of the South Caucasus in international transport projects.
