OSCE expresses concern over situation in Karabakh

The 24th OSCE Ministerial Council kicked off in Vienna on Dec.7.

Addressing the Council, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Sebastian Kurtz said positive progress was made in respect to the issue of settlement of the conflicts in the OSCE area, Defence.az reported.

According to him, confidence should be restored in the OSCE area.

President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli expressed concern over the conflicts in the area emphasizing the necessity of compliance with the resolutions related to the conflicts.

“Increase of hostilities in the Nagorno Karabakh region causes a deep concern,” said Tsereteli.

“Joint efforts are needed to take measures in order to achieve peace and establish confidence among the conflicting parties. Peace is not far and can be achieved through understanding,” the OSCE PA president added.
Note that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov is also attending the meeting.
